MalTec SafeSensor5000 2-in-1 – a compact wireless carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke detector for homes, apartments, cottages, and other premises. An electrochemical CO sensor and a photoelectric smoke sensor are integrated into one device, eliminating the need to install two separate devices. The LCD screen displays the detected carbon monoxide concentration in PPM units, and audible and visual alarms help quickly detect danger.

The device emits an audible alarm of no less than 85 dB, measured from a distance of 3 meters, and additionally activates a red warning light. CO alarm thresholds are determined by the detected concentration and its duration: 50, 100, and 300 PPM. Three color indicators clearly inform about the status: green indicates proper operation, yellow indicates a malfunction or low battery, and red indicates an alarm. The device is designed for rooms up to 40 m², mounted on a wall or ceiling, and powered by two AA batteries, which are included in the kit.

TEST / SILENCE Function

The convenient TEST/SILENCE button allows for regular checking of the sound and light alarm functions. The smoke alarm can be temporarily silenced for approximately 10 minutes, but this function should only be used if you are certain that the situation is not dangerous. After the set time, the detector automatically returns to normal operating mode. The device also warns of low battery, sensor malfunction, and end of service life. The maximum specified sensor life is 10 years.

The detector is recommended to be installed near sleeping areas, in bedrooms, and on every floor of the house, in accordance with the user manual. It can be useful in rooms where boilers, stoves, fireplaces, water heaters, or gas appliances are used. Carbon monoxide is odorless and invisible, so a special sensor helps to detect dangerous concentrations in time. The device complies with the requirements of EN 14604:2005/AC:2008 and EN 50291-1:2018 standards and has a CE conformity mark.
